The conference will be about
all the technologies involved in the production
of aluminium castings. Aluminium has been projected
as the metal of the future due to its advantages
in allowing designers to reduce component weight
and contribute to a greener world by reducing
overall energy consumption.
In the last decade, the aluminium
die casting industry in India has seen a transformation
in terms of adoption of latest manufacturing technologies,
world class infrastructure, consistent quality
and quantities being delivered at a competitive
price. No doubt, all the major international OEMs
are buying from India for their domestic as well
as export requirements.
Exposure to world class technologies
and industry is one of the best ways to achieve
global standards of quality. This will be facilitated
by the Buyer-seller meet organised with the intention
of bringing both buyer and seller to one location
for better interaction.
The papers to be presented at
the conference will cover the technical, commercial
and managerial aspects of efficiently running
an aluminium casting enterprise. I am sure all
our members and other delegates to the conference
will be vastly benefitted by this conference.
The concurrent exhibition with
over 100 stalls will showcase many products of
use to the aluminium casting industry.
ALUCAST recognizes that human
resources with the right technical skills is key
to the success of the Industry. In the past ALUCAST
has contributed to this by organising training
programmes for supervisory personnel. We have
taken this a step further by having as one of
our regular features the organising of a "Students
Day", this will encourage fresh graduates
to explore employment opportunities and allow
employers to recruit new talent to the industry.
We are confident that the conference
will be of great benefit to all the participants
and look forward to your support in making it
a resounding success.
It is my wish that the younger
generation takes the lead in shaping the future
of our association. We will encourage new ideas;
strive for more cordial relations and fruitful
interaction amongst all members.
Interacting with the government
agencies is the need of the hour and will be high
on our list of priorities. For this we will require
systematic data collection about the industry
and we will attempt it with full vigour.
I wish to make ALUCAST a real
world class association, and it is possible. What
we need is your help, suggestions, concrete, committed
and active participation in all our activities.
With best wishes
PRASAN FIRODIA
